After almost 6 years working with some of the most incredibly driven talent, it is time for me to move on. I appreciate Rob Ruyak and Tad Anderson for introducing me to this opportunity at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2018. Thanks Sandy Carter for mentoring and supporting the team as we built this plane while in-flight. From there, it was a whirlwind of rapid experimentation, hiring some of the best talent, and building and executing strategies and global programs to help #Startups grow their business.Rich Julien and I built this team together, which grew from just the two of us to 18 at its peak. Rich built out the startup practicefor #Space, #Defense, and #NationalSecurity with his hand-picked team including Grant Hume FBCS CITP , Amber Nightengale Bryant , Michael Moreno , Gregory Pepus . The mission: Defend Liberal Democracies :) (credit @Grant Hume). Dr. Adam Glasofer, MD, MSHI joined us to build the #healthcare startup practice and programs with Amanda Goltz and Hak Salih. In a very short order they built a global brand (AWS Healthcare Accelerator) to help startup connect with customers and VCs, build better products, and hire the best.Jason C. and Hardik Bhatt joined to drive startup focus on #Sustainability. This was a small yet mighty team.While this team focus on growing startups, Erin Jacobs joined first as in intern, and then full-time to a global early stage program #StartupRamp. She was our #energizerbunny - Non-stop, never out of positive energy, ever-optimistic and just a warm, blessed, brilliant individual.Further down the line we double the team size with Belinda Matingou (a passionate GovTechie, ever-optimistic and super hard working Amazonian) and Brickton Flammer (calm and brilliant Amazonian) taking the lead with #govtech, and Jennifer Larson and John Boynton driving startup success in #education vertical.Rachel Van Dinter kept us straight - seriously. I applaud the work ethics, precision, discipline that she brough to the team. Our brain hallucinates and makes predictions every second of the day. This is based on the past experiences stored in our brain. Hmm how is that different from multi modal Foundational Models ?? It is not different at all - same darn thing. Just that our brains are much, much, much more experienced in doing this and is way more efficient at it, thanks to gains made through evolution.#generativeAI #LLM#neuroscience#artificialintelligence
